2012 Taiwan Orchid Luxury Tour in 12 Days

Day 1 - Departure from Australia / Arrive Taiwan
28 Feb 2012 (Tue) -Depart flight from Sydney ( CI52 22:10) or Brisbane ( CI54 23:15) to Taiwan.  

Day 2 - Arrive Taipei Taiwan/ Sun Moon Lake ( B/L/D)  
29 Feb 2012 (Wed)- On arrival into Taipei International Airport at approx 04:30AM in the morning (SYD Group) or 6AM in the momring for BNE Group, you will be met by your friendly Taiwan Holidays & Travel tour guide who will greet you at the Taipei Airport lobby. You will be transferred to "Formosa Nine Aboriginal Tribes Culture Village" to see the indigenous culture shows and beautiful garden of the theme park and culture village. During this time of the year in spring in Taiwan, you may be able to see the famous cherry blossom at the Sun Moon Lake area & Formosan culture village. The Sun Moon Lake Cable will be experienced to see the beautiful scenery of the whole area from the 'birds eye view '. Sun Moon Lake is Taiwan's largest lake with the east side shaped like " Sun", and West side shaped like "Moon", hence the name " Sun Moon Lake". Wenwu Temple and Literature Warrior Temple dedicated to Confucius as Master of Pen and to Kuan Ti as Master of Sword, and Holy Monk Shrine. After touring around Sun Moon Lake, you will be transferred to your luxury 5 star hotel located on the lake.

Day 3 - Sun Moon Lake / Alisan/ Chiayi (B/L/D)
01Mar 2012 (Thur) - After breakfast, you will depart for the "Eight Wonders of Taiwan- Alisan", which is located at the end of the Alisan Forest Railway.If the weather permits, you will be able to see the external sea of clouds and sunrise on Jhushan after an early morning walk through spectacular landscapes of valleys and trails. Sightseeing around the Alisan National Scenic Area including: Cherry Blossom ( Season:Mar-Apr), Zhaoping Park, Sochun Temple, Old Alisan Tree Site,...just to name a few. After the experience at Alisan, you will be transferred to have a taste of the Alisan high moutain tea at the tea farmer's place. Dinner will be served at the only restaurant in Taiwan that performs ' Taiwanese Eight Gods Dance' while you enjoy your gourmet dinner.

Day 4 - Chiayi / Tainan / TIOS Opening Ceremony / Orchid Show / Chiayi (B/D)
02Mar 2012 (Fri) - Today , is the highlight of the tour, attending the Opening Ceremony of Taiwan International Orchid Show ( TIOS) in Taiwan Orchid Plantation (a modern 143 ha, of orchid R&D centre located in Houpi Township, a fertile area southwest of Taiwan). You will have whole day to explore at the show for a wonderful display of orchids from many horticultural companies with hi-tech boitech facilities. Orchid exports account more than 70% of all of Taiwan's horticultural exports. Taiwan supplies over 50% of the world's orchids and more then 80% of Butterfly Orchids imported in the USA are from Taiwan. More than 600,000 visitors are expected to attend the 2012 TIOS. Several thousands of visitors from professional growers to serious hobbyists come for the blooming event every year.

Day 5 -  Chiayi / Tainan City / Kaohsiung City (B)
03Mar 2012(Sat) -After breakfast, tour guide will take you to for Tainan City Tour. Tainan is  the ancient city of Taiwan, which is full of heritage and culture sites, sightseeing includes: Koxinga Shrine, Chihkan Lou Tower and Chimei Museum, Anping Fort, External Fortress (Yi Tzai Golden Castle). Arrive Kaohsiung ( 2
nd largest city of Taiwan) in the evening to visit the LeoHo Night Market.You can then visit the famous " Love River " which is now renowned for its cafe culture and night tour which are popular among local couples for a romantic night.

Day 6 - Kaohsiung / Kenting / Taitung (B/L/D)
04Mar 2012 (Sun) - Today, the highlight for many visit Taiwan is a visit to Kenting National Park, undoubtedly one of the most beautifully reserved natural forest in Taiwan. It is located in south of the tropical region of Taiwan where palm tree, sugar cane and surfing beach are part of the scene. It's an excellent place for swim, surf, and dive. Other sightseeing will be visited today are the southernmost tip of Taiwan, " Maopitou" ( named after the shape of cat-nose-like rock).) The coast reforms which strongly affected by wave erosions, efflorescence, and salt-soaking. The natural landscape like wave erosion caves, ditches, and pillars are amazing, sea view here is attractive and very enjoyable. The Oluanpi Light House will also be visited ( it is the world's first millitary equipped light house). We then continue to Taitung via the Scenic Southern Link Hightway. Overnight at Taitung and enjoy a relaxing hot spring bath at the 5 star hotel.

Day 7 - Taitung / East Coast National Scenic Area / Hualien (B/L/D)
05Mar 2012 (Mon) - After breakast at the hotel, we will drive to " Tainan Aboriginal Beinan Cultural Village" it is the site where the BC civil human evidences have  been found. Then we will drive through the HuaTong Mt Route, where we will stop at: Butterfly Valley which is abundance with beautiful lanscape and natural environment. It's just the perfect essence to a renowned butterfly sceneries. Here you can enjoy an unique natural experience and amazing comfortable sensation outdoor hot spring and spa in the deluxe butterfly Valley Resort. Tonight you will be overnight at Hualien City.

Day 8 - Hualien / Taroko Gorge / Taipei (B/X/D)
06Mar 2012 (Tue): After breakfast, we will visit Taroko Gorge, which is an exceptionally beautiful area of Taiwan. It is the " Seven Wonder of Aisa", its narrow raving created by the Liwu River which has cut deep into the mountains of solid marble. A road carved into sheer walls of rock rewinding its way past forested peaks and cliffs towering thousands of feet above it, while hunderds of feet below a river roars past gigantic marble boulders. On our way back to Taipei, we will drive pass the " Chingshuei Cliff" located on the section of the Suao-Hualien Highway that stretches between Heping and Chongde stations, is one of the most spectacular sights on Taiwan's Pacific coast. The Cliff is more than 1,000 meters high an drops almost vertically into the sea. The hightway snakes along its curving face more thean 20 kilometers, with the sheer cliff rising on one side and a sheer drop to the ocean on the other. we will visit Orchid Garden in YiLan, where more than 1.3 millions of orchids are located. We will then arrive Taipei in the evening.

Day 9 - Taipei / Wulai/ Chiufen / Yehliu (B/L/D)
07Mar 2012 (Wed): After breakfast, you will be taking to Wulai, it is famous for hot spring, waterfall, and Aboriginal culture. There is even a cable cart to have panoramic view of the valley. The " Wulai Old Street" will be visited, where you can taste the many famous Taiwanese gourmet and snacks. After Lunch, we will depart for Yehliu Ocean Park. It is known for its spectacular rock formations, sculptured throughout the ages by wind and sea erosion leaving fascinating pillars, including the famous " Queen's Head" and " Fairy's Show". The next stop in the evening will be Chiufen Village, famous for its old mining town's charming characteristics.

Day 10 - Yangminshan / Taipei City Sightseeing (B/L/X)
08Mar 2012 (Thur): Yangminshan National Park will be visited. Presidential Building ( Pass by), Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall and National Palace Museum (has the largest Chinese art and painting collection in the world). After lunch, we will visit Martyrs' Shrine. In the evening, you will be treated by the famous Taiwanese foot massage. Tonight you will visit the largest night market in Taiwan, "Shilin Night Market". In the night market, you will able to explore and see all sorts of bargains.

Brisbane passengers' tour ends today, and will be transferred to airport for CI53 departing 23:50 PM.

Day 11 - Taipei
09Mar 2012 (Fri): After breakfast, you will have leisure time to explore the vibrant city of Taipei. Taipei is shopapholics' heaven. You can find all sorts of bargain to all the world famous brands at one shopping district. About 7PM you will be transferred to the Taipei International Airport for flight back to Sydney at 23:55PM.
 

Day 12 - Arrive Sydney
10Mar 2012 (Sat): Arrive Sydney Intl. Airport at approx 12:15 Noon.
