Picked up from Taipei Hotel, transfer to SongShanAirport , then transfer to Kinmen.First stop: Tai LakeArea, Tai Lake Recreation Area is a park centered on Tai Lake. The park covers an area of 45 hectares. Tai Lake, the largest man-made freshwater lake in Kinmen, was built in 1965. Three islands topped by elegant pavilions are scattered in the lake. Then we proceed to FolkCultureVillage, it is located in Shanhou village, and consists of eighteen buildings built in the Southern Fujian style, arranged in three rows following the lie of the mountain terrain.Next stop:Mashan Observation Post, Mashan(Horse Mountain)is the point where Kinmen is closest to mainland China. The distance of separation is only 2,100 meters; at low tide, when more land area is exposed, the distance shrinks to just 1,800 meters. The observation station is located in a long, narrow trench and is equipped with three pairs of high-powered binoculars through which the daily life of the fishing villages on the opposite shore can be seen clearly.Then we will visit Kinmen Traditional Candy and Kinmen Knife Factory.JuguangTower, the symbol of Kinmen, and a popular tourist spot. The tower itself, built in imposing ancient Chinese style, contains a cultural gallery. Two cannon in front of the tower reflect the turbulent history of Kinmen.Our final stop will be JiaShia Shrine.
After Breakfast, transfer to TaiWu Mountain—KinJio Square—Little Kinmen (Chaste Maiden Temple, Bada Tower, Siwei Tunnel)Kinmen-Wentai Pagoda-Zhaishan Tunnel
Kinmenconsists of a group of islands with a subtropical monsoon climate and a hilly terrain made up mostly of granite. Its is situated only 2,100 meters from mainland China at the closest point, so that the mainland can be viewed clearly with high-power binoculars.
Wentai Pagoda:This five-story hexagonal stone "pagoda" was built in 1387, during the Ming Dynasty. The solid granite structure was designed to serve as a navigational marker for ships negotiating the treacherous waters near Kinmen. Though small, the pagoda exhibits an impressively simple and dignified style. Its peak features carvings and relief work, and stones near its base exhibit playful Chinese calligraphy written by the Ming Dynasty scholar Chen Hui as well as the contemporary artist Chang Ta-chien. The pagoda is designated as a second-grade historic site.
The Zhaishan Tunnel are located to the southeast of Gugang Lake, in an area where the southern coastline juts out. Construction began on these tunnels in 1961 and was completed on March 22, 1966.
After breakfast, transfer to Ci Lake -- ShuangliWetlandsNatureCenter—Beishan--GuningtouBattleMuseum—Wine Facotry—Kinmen National Park-Ma Noodle—SongShanAirport—Transfer back to Hotel in Taipei.
Guningtou BattleMuseum:Inside the museum are 12 oil paintings by prominent artists depicting the battle, along with displays of other materials, documents, and photographs relating to the fighting and the victory that followed. The aim of the museum is to portray the spirit of sacrifice manifested by the soldiers who fought so hard and gave so much for their country.
