Day 1: Departure from Australia
Depart flight from Sydney, Australia with China Airlines CI52 22:10 to Taiwan.


Day 2: Departure from Australia / Arrive Taiwan
Arrival at Taipei (Taoyuan) International Airport at approx 04:40PM, you will be met by your friendly Taiwan Holidays & Travels Tour Guide who will transfer you to your hotel where you will spend one night. You will be able to use the free time to explore the vibrant night life of Taipei, e.g. Taipei 101 Building, Night Markets... etc.

Day 3: Taipei / Hsuei-Shan Long Tunnel / Su-Hwa Highway / Hualien (B/ L/ D)
Enjoying your breakfast and we will depart to Hualien via Hsuei-Shan Long Tunnel (total length of 12.9 Kms) and Su-Hwa Highway (13-year of history). Su-Hwa Hualien Highway stretches between Heping and Chongde stations that are one of the most spectacular sights on Taiwan's Pacific coast. The cliff is more than 1,000 meters high and drops almost vertically into the sea. The highway snakes along its curving face more than 20 kilometers, with the sheer cliff rising on one side and a sheer drop to the ocean on the other. Arriving Hualien and you can experience the exciting upstream River Tracing, it will for sure to challenge your physical strength and persistence. River tracing is subject to change based on the weather and river conditions on the day.

Day 4: River Rafting / The Heavenly Stairs / Northern Coastal Lines / Hualien (B/ L/ D)
After breakfast, you will visit the Siouguluan River which is best known for its magnificent scenery. The Siouguluan River starts in the Central Mountain Range which cuts through the Coastal Mountain Range and flows into the Pacific Ocean. 24-kilometer-long stretch between the Rueisuei and Changhong Bridges. The water in this winding stretch of river flows very quickly making it ideal for white-water rafting. It usually takes the rafters 3 to 4 hours to go from Rueisuei to the Changhong Bridge. Lunch at local restaurant, then the tour will go and visit “The Heavenly Stairs” leading up to Guanyin Cave and Changuang Temple. Swallow’s Grottos are natural holes carved out of the marble by the erosion of the Liwu River. During late spring and early summer the holes are the nesting place of thousands of swallows.

Day 5: Taroko National Park / Su-Hwa Highway Hualien / Jioufen (B / L / X)
After breakfast, this morning you will depart to Taroko National Park where locates in the Eastern part of Taiwan. Taroko Gorge, an exceptionally beautiful area of Taiwan, which is formed by the Liwu River cutting through the marble mountains. It is the "Seven Wonder of Asia", its narrow raving created by the Liwu River which has cut deep into the mountains of solid marble. A road carved into sheer walls of rock rewinding its way past forested peaks and cliffs towering thousands of feet above it, while hundreds of feet below a river roars past gigantic marble boulders. Stops will be made at Eternal Spring Shrine, Swallow Grotto, Tunnel of Nine Turns, Marble Bridge, Tienshiang and Marble Factory.  The tour continues to travel to the villages of Jioufen which were once centres of gold mining in Taiwan. The gold is gone, but these quaint old villages, built of closely-packed houses clinging to steep mountainsides, continue to offer enchanting scenery and fascinating glimpses into the lifestyles of the past.


Jioufen was used to the center of gold mining. It is located within the hills in northeast of Taiwan. The village is next to the mountain and facing the sea. The most prosperous shopping district is Jinshan Street. It goes through most of the village. There are many visitors on the street. Along the street there are shops vending the most famous country snack of Geo Fan, yam dish and various local dishes. There are some historical items well reserved. The trip to Jioufen is full of fun and delights.

Day 6: The National Palace Museum / Yangminshan / Tamshui Old Street / Shih Lin Night Market / 101 Taipei (B / L / X)
Enjoying breakfast, you will go and visit the National Palace Museum, which houses the world's largest and most valuable collections of Chinese art treasures. The collection is even too large to be displayed at one time! While many popular pieces remain on permanent display, other items are rotated regularly, making each visit unique. Lunch will be held at the famous restaurant inside the museum where the chef was favored by the ex-President Chen. We will visit Yangmingshan Nation Park where locates just outside Taipei City. It is renowned for its topography and its wealth of unusual volcanic features. The "Tamshui Old Street" will be visited, where you can taste the many famous Taiwanese gourmet or snacks. Shih Lin Night Market where you will be able to see many interesting boutique shops that carries the history of Taiwan. Discovering the most famous landmark of Taiwan, "Taipei 101 Tower", it is the world second tallest building. 

The National Palace Museum houses the world's largest collection of priceless Chinese art treasures, one which spans China's nearly 5,000-year history. Most of the museum's 700,000 art objects were part of the Chinese imperial collection, which began over 1,000 years ago in the early Sung dynasty.

Yangmingshan National Park is located within 30 minutes by car from downtown Taipei. Yangminshan is filled with dormant volcanoes and is densely dotted with hot springs, fumaroles and craters and other geothermal phenomena.

Tamshui
was used to be called Huwei. It is a derivation from the ancient tongue Hoba. It means the river outlet. It is located in northwest of Taipei basin where is surrounded by mountains and rivers and the scenery is beautiful. Next to the Tamshui station lies a riverbank where many live performances take place and you can walk along the riverbank and enjoy the gentle breeze from the estuary. In the riverside is lined with restaurants and stalls offering authentic local snacks like A-gei (bean curd with stuffings cooked in broth), fish balls and chewy “iron eggs’. You can also enjoy a fresh seafood barbecue at one of the seaside restaurants, and marvel at the view as the sun retires into the sea.

Shih Lin Night Market is the largest night market in Taipei where sells food, clothes and is a favorite focal point for Taipei’s night life among residents and visitors alike.

Taipei 101 is the tallest building in the world, with a mass of shops on the lower floors, incorporating many top brands under the LVMH group, such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, Celine, etc. The fourth floor houses the Page One bookstore from Singapore, with the highest-roofed coffee house in Taipei and many fine restaurants.

Special notes of River Tracing:

  • People have heart disease, epilepsy or children under 12 are not suitable to take part in river tracing.
  • Recommended in casual wear and wear closed shoes for your own comfort and safely purpose. 
  • You can prepare sun-screen lotion and spare clothes to change, but you are not advised to bring too many or expensive belongings with you.
  • Before departure, tighten up or store your personal belongings at a safe place with the necessary water-proof protection. Life jacket and safety helmet have to be tightened up properly.
  • You are not allowed to drink alcohol during the river tracing and please do not bring any foods or drinks on board. Please help preserve the natural beauty of the region and do not litter.
