6 Days Mt Jade (Yushan) Climbing Tour - $1520

Day 1: Departure from Australia
Depart flight from Sydney, Australia with China Airlines CI52 22:10 to Taiwan.

Day 2 (Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue): Taipei International Airport / Taiwanese Presidential Palace / Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall / Taipei 101 (X / X / X)
After your arrival to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, you will be picked up by your tour guide and driven to a Taipei City Hotel for check-in. After a rest, enjoy Taipei City Tour. The guide will show you Taiwanese Presidential Palace (drive-by only), Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall (Also known as Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall), a typical Taiwanese temple and the highest building in the world, Taipei 101 (the observation platform entrance ticket at one’s own cost). Finally return to your hotel for the night’s rest.

Day 3 (Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed): Chiayi / Alishan (B/ X / X)
After your hotel breakfast, check-out and board our bus, departure from Taipei, drive to South Taiwanese County of Chiayi, and then further to famous mountain retreat, Alishan. In the afternoon enjoy a leisurely walk under the beautiful Alishan trees, some of which are several thousand years old.

Day 4 (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu): Alishan Sunrise / Yushan Climb (B/ L / D)
In the early morning you can take an optional tour (at one’s own cost) and ride a World Heritage category mountain train to enjoy a view of Alishan sunrise. After a breakfast, ride to Tatachia parking lot and start the Yushan climb. Take a van to the Yushan trail head and climb 8.5 km (around 4-5 hours) to the Paiyun hut. If the weather and time permits, it is possible to climb Yushan West Peak in the afternoon (around 4.4 km, 2-3 hours both ways).
Hotel: Paiyun Hut (dormitory style, all clients in one room)

Day 5 (Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri): Yushan Main Peak / Tungpu Hot Springs (B/ L / X)
In the morning climb remaining 2.4 km (around 2 hours) to the Yushan Main Peak (3952 m.) then back to the Paiyun hut (around 1 hr).
After a rest descend back to the trailhead (2-3 hrs), return by van to Tatachia parking lot and board the car for the drive to Tungpu Hot Springs. Enjoy the relaxing hot spring bath in the hotel.

Day 6 (Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat): Sinyi Township Dream Works / Sun Moon Lake / Wen-Wu Temple (B/ X / X)
After breakfast check-out and drive to Sinyi Township Dream Works of the Mei to visit the museum of aboriginal culture and taste some of the local delicacies made of plums and grapes. Then continue to visit the magnificent Sun Moon Lake. Made stops at Hsuen-Tsang (Holy Monk) Shrine, Itathao (Te-hua) aboriginal village and Wen-wu Temple. In the afternoon drive back to Taipei.

Day 7 (Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun): National Palace Museum / Martyrs' Shrine / Taiwan Handicraft Center (B/ L / D)
In the morning visit the National Palace Museum with its five thousand years old collection of Chinese antiquities that was brought to Taiwan from China after the second world war. Then see a magnificent building of Martyrs’ Shrine with its impressive changing of the guards. Finish your trip to Taiwan in a Handicraft Center to buy souvenirs and gifts for your friends. Transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home. Or you may stay in Taiwan for extra time to explore the vibrant city of Taipei.
