Day 1: Siem Reap (D) We’ll meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel where you can freshen up before starting your exploration of Angkor. Your first stop is the famous Angkor Wat. Believed to be built by the gods and not man, it is a magnificent example of Khmer art and architecture. We finish with a climb up Phnom Bakheng to watch the temple glow in the setting sun.
Hotel: Aspara Holiday Hotel or similar
Day 2: Siem Reap (B/D) This morning we head to one of Angkor’s most popular temples, Bayon, with its enormous, imposing faces, then onto the grandeur of the Leper King and Elephant Terraces. The afternoon is spent at the beautifully-preserved Banteay Srei, before heading back to Siem Reap and a well-deserved traditional foot massage.

Day 3: Siem Reap (B/D) This morning an ox cart takes you to the arresting sight of Ta Prohm, where large silk-cotton and fig tree roots have become one with the temple itself. For a change of pace, the afternoon is spent cruising Tonle Sap, with its many floating fishing villages. Back in Siem Reap you’ll have a chance to see local artisans at work, creating carvings, silks and many exquisite local crafts.

Day 4: Siem Reap - Phnom Penh (B/D) After a morning flight to the capital, we’ll get you settled into your hotel in Phnom Penh before taking to the streets of this fascinating city. Before arriving at the National Museum, we’ll stop at the Royal Palace to see the treasures of the Silver Pagoda, with its stunning silver floor tiles.
Hotel: Juliana Hotel or similar
Day 5: Phnom Penh (B/D) After breakfast, we visit Tuol Sleng, a former prison of the Khmer Rouge and now a memorial to this dark period. Then you’re free to bargain at the Russian market, with its silks, silver and crafts. This afternoon we visit Cheoung Ek, a memorial and museum to the Killing Fields before moving onto lovely Wat Phnom, the city’s most important temple. A leisurely sunset cruise concludes our day of contrasts.
Hotel: Juliana Hotel or similar
Day 6: Phnom Penh - Kep (B/D) After breakfast we drive to the tranquil river town of Kampot and a zoo that shelters some of the most endangered animals - elephants, sun bears and tigers. If it’s in season, we’ll also visit a durian plantation. One of the most revered fruits, its smell is also revered for all the wrong reasons. Then it’s onto our hotel in unspoilt Kep, overlooking the sea.
Hotel: Veranda Resort or similar
Day 7: Kampot - Kep (B/D) We return to Kampot to take in the architecture of two histories - former French-colonial homes and original Khmer wooden houses. We also visit the pre-Angkor cave temple of Phnom Chhngouk, with its carved formations of crocodiles, elephants and eagle before returning to our relaxing hotel at Kep.
Hotel: Veranda Resort or similar
Day 8: Kampot - Phnom Penh (B) After breakfast we’ll start our journey back to Phnom Penh and the airport. On the way, we’ll visit one of the plantations in Kampot that grows the pepper for which this area is renowned. An invigorating experience for the senses.
