China Airlines Fly Direct to London from Taipei

China Airlines will offer direct flights to London starting Mar. 28, due to an increasing number of travelers to Great Britain after the country offered visa-free entrance to Taiwan visitors.

Starting Mar. 29, EVA Air will offer flights seven days a week.

Starting on that date, China Airlines will have three direct flights each week from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to London, it said, adding direct flights will save over two hours of traveling time.

China Airlines will offer discounts for the initial flights, it said.

Flights from Taipei are scheduled for Tuesday’s, Thursday’s and Sunday’s, with CI69 leaving Taipei at 09:35AM and same day arrival at London Heathrow (LHR) Terminal 4 at 04:55 PM. CI70 flies non-stop leaving Heathrow at 10:05PM and arrives in Taipei the following day at 05:05PM.

The non-stop Taipei–London flights provides the perfect connecting flight for Sydney departures, with CI56 leaving Sydney at 10:35PM on Monday and Saturday, arriving Taipei the following morning at 05:35AM. After a 5-hour wait in Taipei, you can then board CI69 with a 13-hours flight straight to London.

The largest airliner in Taiwan said that the type of aircraft it will use in London route will be the spacious Airbus A340-400, which will provide 30 seats for business class passengers with reclining 176 degree, and total 246 seats for economy class passengers.
 

China Airlines' competitor, EVA Air, currently has a weekly flight each Saturday to London with a layover in Bangkok.
