The Tour

You will be picked up from your Taipei city hotel and travel to north coast hillside, the mining town of Jinguashi and POW (Prisoner of War) Memorial Park. The Jingwashe POW Memorial park was site of the infamouse WWII KinKaseki POW camp, where allied soliders were forced to work the mines. You can visit old Japanese-built heritage buildings and enjoy a mine-tunnel experience. Prisoner of War Memorial Park (Jinguashi) During World War II, the Japanese built 16 prisoner of war (POW) camps in Taiwan. The camp in Jinguashi was recently turned into the POW War Memorial Park in respect to the more than 4,350 Allied POWs imprisone

Continue to the Gold Museum (Gold Ecological Park), you will have better understanding of the mining history and community culture of Ginwashe (Jinguashi). Ginwashe is ready to create a fresh golden legend with the participation of local residents who together will forge the glamour of this land.

Gold Museum is closed on first Monday of each month, Chinese New Year's Eve, Chinese New Year's Day and election days. When Monday falls on a public holiday, the park will open as normal and will close next day. On Gold Museum closing day, you will be taken to Chiufen instead.
