Highlight of Korea & Jeju Island 9 Days

Day 1 (Saturday) Sydney - Incheon - Seoul (B/L)

Depart Sydney early morning on Korean Air KE122.
Arrive at Incheon International Airport in the evening. Upon arrival Transfer to Best Western Airport Hotel, 5 minutes away from the airport by free hotel shuttle bus. (Ground floor->Gate B: shuttle bus written "Best western Airport Hotel)

Hotel: Best Western Airport Hotel (5*) or similar

 

Day 2 (Sunday) Seoul - Jeju Island (B/L)

Check-out hotel and transfer to Gimpo Domestic airport by KAL Limousine Express bus at your own expense for KE 1215 departing 10:20 & arriving Jeju Domestic Airport at 11:25. (or Transfer by taxi to Gimpo Domestic airport, about 30 minutes & roughly A$60). Upon arrival at Jeju airport, you will be met and greeted by our English speaking guide at the arrival area of the airport. Check-in hotel and take a rest.

Day 3 (Monday) Jeju Island (B/L)

Sightseeing including:-

Cheonjiyeon Waterfalls and Gyulimseong (Jeju’s indigenous tangerine farm with many special products).

Optional tour:  Cruise Tour ($15) or Dolphin Show - Enjoy the breathtaking scenery both on and under the sea, viewing the mysterious and unexplored regions such as islets and falls. 

O'Sulloc Tea House (Green Tea Museum): The entire building takes the shapre of a green tea cup, seeking to harmonize the cultures of the West and East and past traditions with modern world.  

Hallim Park: Enjoy checking out Palm Tree Road, Jeju Stone and Bonsai Garden, Water Garden, Subtropical Botanic Garden and much more. The most famous tourist sites in Hallim Park are Hyeopjaegul and Ssangyonggul Caves known to be the only two-dimensional caves in the world. 
Folk village: Children's amusement park and outdorr resort facilities make it enjoyable for both children and adults. Yongmeori (Dragon Head) coastline - an Oceanside Promenace of soaring, weather-blown cliffs. Some are quite drastic and beautiful. Note that Yongmeori closed during very high seas (alternative: Sanbanggulsa, a natural cave overlooking the ocean).

Optional Tour: Experiencing of natural dyeing (A$10) / NANTA (A$50) - a non verbal perfomance integrating Korean traditional "Samulnoli" rhythm with comic drama.

Day 4 (Tuesday) Jeju - Busan (B/L)

After breakfast at hotel, check out of your hotel and move to the Mysterious Road (Dokkaebi Road) – a road on which your vehicle will roll uphill if with the engine turned off, shifted into neutral gear. Then look around the Amethyst Factor where they make the strongest and most beautiful amethyst in the world, followed by visiting places below:

4Seonnyeo (nymph)and Namuggun (woodcutter)Theme Park: Composed of old film village, old market street, old shanty house village, agricultural museum displaying old farming utensils, embroidery museum, etc 

4Seongeup Folk Village: Perfectly preserved Korean tradition with its vast amount of cultural properties. Many cultural heritages such as residential houses, Confucian shrine and schools, ancient government offices, stone statues, fortress ruins, stone monuments and intangible assets like folk plays, native foods, local craftsmanship and local dialect have been handed down to date.

Then drive along the coastline to Jeju Airport. Fly Busan. On arrival at Gimhae Airport in Busan, move to Jagalchi Fish Market - Korea"s largest seafood market formed after Korean War, representing the life style of the indigenous Busan native. You can eat fresh raw fish right at the market where all kinds of fishes are on display in ice or in the aquariums for sale, then Yongdusan Park considered a favorite resting place among the citizens.

Optional Tour : Jump (A$50) “ a mixture of various martial arts and acrobats such as Taekwondo and Taek Kyun.

Day 5 (Wednesday) Gyeongju (B/L)

After breakfast, check out of your hotel then transfer to Gyeongju well- known for “ Museum without walls”.  In 57 BC, around when Julius Caesar was subduing Gaul, it became the capital of the Silla Dynasty and remained so for about 1000 years.  Gyeongju preserves a vast amount of significant and fascinating historical heritage. Along with Bulguksa Temple (The beauty of the temple itself and artistic touch of the stone relics are as awesome and fascinating as to be highly praised by visitors from all over the world) and Seokguram Grotto (an artificial stone temple made of granites, located on the eastern peak of Mt. Toham. Inside the round-shaped main hall, there are the Bonkon Statue, Bodhi-Sattava and his disciples), its historical district has been designated as a World Heritage by UNESCO.
Then, move to Daegu City from Gyeongju by train and transfer to KTX (Korea Train Express) at Dong Daegu Station (around 19:00) to get to Seoul. Upon arrival at Seoul Rail Station, meet with your guide and move to your hotel.

Day 6 (Thursday) Seoul - DMZ - Seoul (B/L)

Morning Tour of DMZ (Demilitarized Zone); a truce line running between the borders of the tow Koreas in which all military activity is forbidden, was established in 1953. Highlights: Imjingak Park, Unification Bridge, DMZ Theater & Exhibition Hall, the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, Dorasan Observation, Dorasan Station, pass by Unification Village, Amethyst Factory.

Optional Tour: MISO, a Korean musical at Chongdong Theater (A$50, running time 70 min. except Mondays) - a story about a young man's and woman's love which leads to an ardent love that matures throughout the progress of the four seasons.

Later visiting Dongdaemum Market (or Myeongdong Fashion Street). Ever since its opening in 1905, the market has been one of the major markets in Korea. Specializing in wholesale clothing, the market has grown large, having more than 20 shopping malls. A full range of fashion items that cover head to toe, are found in Dongdaemum Market at inexpensive prices.  The market is always crowded with retailers, foreigners, customers and tourists.

Day 7 (Friday) Seoul Full Day Tour (B/L)

Breakfast at hotel. Then proceed morning tour of Seoul city. Passing by Cheongwadae (an official residencen for the President), Gyeongbok Palace, a main palace during Joseon Dynasty (1392~1910), is at the heart of Seoul and deemed extraordinarily auspicious according to the traditional practice of geomancy. The Palace is particularly charming tourist spot representing a colorful and turbulent aspect of the Capital's 500-year-old history. There are the Royal Guards Ceremonies on every hour from 10:00~15:00 except on Tuesdays when the Palace is closed.

After that visiting Korea National Folk Museum, located in the Gyeongbok Palace premised will help to familiarize the visitors with the cultural wealth of this friendly and pictureque nation.

End of the tour, transfer to Incheon International Airport (on your own) to fly to your next destination.

Day 8 (Saturday) Seoul - Incheon - Sydney (B)

Individual check-out on arrangement at around 09:00. Move to Seosomun KAL building (5 minutes walking distance) & transfer to Incheon International Airport by KAK Limousine Express Bus at your own expense for KE121 departing in the evening or you could extend your stay upon request before your departure from Australia.

 

Day 9 (Sunday) Arrive Sydney

Arrive Sydney approximate 09:00 on KE121.
