Firstly, you will visit Cheng Ching Lake - located in Kaohsiung County’s Niaosong Township, Cheng Ching is larger than all other lakes in the Kaohsiung area. Cheng Ching Lake was originally built to serve as a water reservoir for industrial use. Cheng Ching Lake’s surface covers an area of over 300 hectares. For its peaceful ambience Cheng Ching Lake is also called the ‘West Lake of Taiwan’. The most famous attraction offered by the lake if Bridge of Nine Turns , which was built in 1960 and true to its name the bridge, running 230 mt long with a width of 2.5 mt, has nine turns.
The tour then continues to Spring & Autumn Pavilion, which are a Taoist temple complex
situated at the southwest part of Lotus Lake. The two pavilions stand on the lake in a zigzag shaped above-water walkway (Bridge of Nine Turns) . The Spring and Autumn Pavilions were completed in 1951. In front of the pavilions is a statue of Kuanyin, the Goddess of Mercy, riding a dragon. According to legend, Kuanyin appeared above the clouds riding on a dragon, signifying that believers must erect an image depicting this event between "pavilions of summer and autumn": The present-day structures are a result of this vision.
You will enjoy the beauty of The Hsitzu Bay. It is perched on the sea at the western edge of the city, just southwest of Mt Shou (Shoushan), with the Chijin Peninsula stretching southward. The bay's main feature is a swimming beach known for its crystal clear blue water, the beauty of its sunsets and its natural reef. The atmosphere and the scenery changes from morning to night time with each moment of the day has its special attraction.
The tour conclude with a visit to The British Consulate at Takao which was built in 1865 and was the first western-style building built on the island. It has been designated as a 2nd Class Historic Site by the Taiwanese Ministry of the Interior.
