New Asian Cruise Industry Alliance ACC

New Asian cruise industry alliance established

A Pan-Asian cruise industry alliance comprising five destinations has been formed to help accelerate cruise tourism in Asia.
Asia Cruise Cooperation (ACC) is made up of cruise destinations Hainan, Hong Kong, The Philippines, Taiwan and Xiamen, which officially launched this week at Seatrade Cruise Global in Fort. Lauderdale, Florida.
ACC will work toward creating more consumer demand for cruising by facilitating itinerary development, sharing industry insights, and helping to boost cruise lines' marketing efforts in the rgion.
"With the ACC platform, Hainan will become one of the world's largest international cruise centers by strengthening the cooperation with ACC partners to attract more international cruise visitors," said Junlin He, vice director of Hainan Provincial Tourism Development Commission.
The alliance will work closely with individual cruise lines to develop and market Asian cruise products and encourage other neighbouring cruise ports to cooperate.
Dr Zinan Liu, Royal Caribbean's president of North Asia & China, said; "When planning an itinerary, cruise lines tend to choose attractive ports of call in the same region. As a result, we believe it's essential to collaborate with our ACC partnering destinations in order to attract international cruise companies and develop new itineraries."
