Perfect Korea 8 Days - Seoul, Busan, Jeju Island, Mt Sorak

Day 1: (Fri) Seoul - Buyeo - Jeonju - Gwangju 

Meet your tour guide at parking lot in front of Donghwa Duty Free Shopping Building, at Gwanghwamun Intersection, Seoul at 8:00AM. Depart Seoul to Gongju (130km/1.5hours). Visit The Tomb of King Muryeong -> Gongsanseong Fortress -> Buyeo (an hour and a half), an ancient capital of the Baekje Dynasty. Visit Baekje Cultural Land where you will see a palace, castle, cultural hall, etc. ->Visit Goransa Temple and Nakhwaam bluff by boat (optional: US$12 pp) where 3,000 court ladies of Baekjae plunged into the river to avoid being captured and dishonored when enemy breached the castle on the last day of the Kingdom-> Proceed to Jeonju (80Km/1 hr) to visit Jeonju Hanok Village including about 700 traditional Korean houses called Hanok. / Transfer to Gwangju (100km / 1hr 20min), the leading city of Honam region and birthplace of a modern democratic movement in Korea. -> Check-into your hotel and have leisure time.

Day 2: (Sat) Gwangju - Suncheon - Yeosu (B)

Breakfast at  hotel / Gwangju, a Hub City of Asian Culture, Visit Gwangju city Musuem - Move to Bosung Green Tea-plantation - Suncheon (100km/ 1hr) where you will visi Suncheon Bay Park / Move to Yeosu, a port city and look around the Historic Site of Admiral Yi Sun-sin's Path. 
Hotel: Yeosu U Castle Hotel or similar

Day 3: (Sun) Yeosu - Busan - Jeju (B)

Breakfast at hotel / Jinsuseong Castle – Chokseoknu edifice historically linked to Japanese invasion in 1592.

Move to Gimhae airport to fly from Gimhae airport to Jeju airport. (14:00~15:00)

Arrive at Jeju and met by Guide.  Transfer to hotel and take a rest. 

Jinjuseong Castle (area 1,760m2 stone castle) - a sacred ground of Jinju in which history and culture of Jinju are well integrated. Originally it had been a mud castle. But it was rebuilt with stones against frequent invasion of sea marauders in the 5th year of King Woo, Goryeo Dynasty (1379). During the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592, the General Kim, Si-min won a victory at this castle, which was one of the three great victories in the war. And the next year (1593), in the second Jijuseong Battle, about 70,000 militia corps and government troops resisted to the last to die gloriously for their country.

Day 4: (Mon) Jeju Island Tour (B/L)

Breakfast at your hotel, and then enjoy a full day of sightseeing. Visit CheonjeyeonFalls (The Pond of God). Continue to the Gyulimseong tangerine farm and followed by a scenic cruise aboard the Seogwipo Pleasure Boat (optional: $30p.p.). Stop for lunch at the local restaurant. Visit Spirited Garden, recognized as the most beautiful garden in the world by the press and renowned guest from around the world who have visited since it opened on July 30.1992 . Take a walk “Olle” a narrow pathway. Complete the day with a walk along the shores of Yongmeori Beach; if closed*, visit Sangbanggulsa cave instead. Dinner on at your own expense and transfer back to hotel.

Day 5: (Tue) Jeju - Fly to Busan (B/L) 

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel and then transfer to Seopjikoji – One of the most mysterious sights in Jeju Island, in harmony with seashore made up of grotesque cliffs and dark blue ocean, where you can enjoy trekking on the Olle path. Visit Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, World Heritage designated by UNESCO. Next, step back in time as you explore the Seongeup Folk Village, renowned for perfectly preserving Korean traditions. This village also boasts many cultural landmarks, such as Confucian shrines and schools, millstones, and more.  Have a lunch at local restaurant. If time is available, visit the Musuem of Natural History – to have an opportunity to experience and learn about the environment and shows how to preserve the earth’s natural beauty. Stop by Korean Jewelry Amethyst and local product store. Transfer back to Jeju Airport and Fly to your next destination around 17:00, Busan (Gimhae airport), the 2nd largest city in Korea. After met by guide, have a dinner on your own and transfer to hotel.

Day 6: (Wed) Busan - Gyeongju - Daegu (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel. Met by our guide at 08:30 am. Move to Gyeongju, a museum without walls. In 57 BC, around when Julius Caesar was subduing Gaul, it became the capital of the Shilla Dynasty and remained so for about 1000 years. Gyeongju preserves a vast amount of significant and fascinating historical heritage. Along with Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto, its historical district has been designated as a World Heritage by UNESCO. GyeongjuNational Museum, & Cheomgseongdae Astronomical ObservatorySeokguram Grotto (UNESCO world heritage) - an artificial stone temple made of granites, located on the eastern peak of Mt. Toham. Inside the round-shaped main hall, there are the Bonjon Statue, Bodhi-Sattava and his disciples. It was built to preserve these statues. Bulguksa Temple (UNESCO world heritage) – The beauty of the temple itself and artistic touch of the stone relics are as awesome and fascinating as to be highly praised by visitors from all over the world. Move to Daegu city for overnight which is a largest and central city of this province. Hotel check-in and take a rest.

Day 7: (Thu) Daegu - Haeinsa Temple - Andong - Mt. Seorak (B/L)
After breakfast and check-out from hotel, move to Haeinsa Temple located in Gayasan National ParkHaeinsa Temple was founded by King Ae-Jang of Shilla Dynasty (802), well known for its famous treasure “Tripitaka Koreana ”(UNESCO world heritage) composed of 81,341 printing woodblocks made to repulse the Mongolian Army Invasion with support of Buddha. And then transfer to Andong Hahoe Village which has preserved the housing architecture and the village structure of the Joseon Dynasty. Moreover, the Village was not artificially created; there are people who actually live there. The Hahoe Villagehas become world-famous for the visit of The Queen Elizabeth II of Britain several years ago. And then transfer to Sokcho, a port of fishing boats and commercial ships. Check in at hotel located close to Sokcho seashore.

Day 8: (Fri) Mt. Seorak - Seoul Gangnam Express Terminal (B/L)
After breakfast and transfer to Seoraksan National Park, of which the peaks break through the clouds while jade-like water flows through the valleys, creating breathtaking views and making this Korea's most famous national park.  UNESCO designated this park a Biosphere Preservation District in 1982 due to so many are species found here.  Visit Sinheungsa-temple located in Mt. Seorak which is an ancient temple with deep historical significance, built by a great monk Jajangyulsa (590~658).  (Optional Tour: Gwongeumseong Cable Car US$15 p.p.).  Gwongeumseong is a site of castle ruins located on the steep Dol Mountain of Seoraksan National Park area.  

*Shinheungsa Temple is a short walk away from the entrance. This temple used to be called Hyanseongsa built by Jajangyulsa (AD590~658), who traveled to famos mountains all over the nation during Queen Jindeok's (?~654) of Silla Dynasty. It was destroyed and rebuilt many times since. (Optional Tour: Gwongeumseong Cable Car - Optiona: $25p.p.). On the path to Sinheungsa, there is a great bronze statue called Bronze Jwabul Staute, which is well over 10 meters high. Just beyond the statue on a granite terrace, there is a bridge to the right called Hyeonsugyo, which was newly built for crossing the ravine. Past the bridge there is a long stone wall with a Cheongwang door, and you can enter the temple.  

After sightseeing of Seoraksan National Park, move to Seoul. Tour will be finished at Gangnam Express Terminal, Seoul at around 18:00pm.   
Tour guide will assist your own transfer to hotel by taxi (your own expense approx A$5 per car) or by train to your hotel in Seoul city.
