Day 1 - Departure from Australia (X/X/D) JULY 2015: Depart flight from Sydney, Australia with China Airlines CI52 22:10 to Taiwan.
Day 2- Arrive Taiwan / Puli / Sun Moon Lake / Chiayi (B/L/D) JULY 2015: On arrival into Taipei International Airport at approx 4:40AM in the morning, you will be met by your friendly Taiwan Holidays & Travel tour guide who will greet you at the Taipei Airport lobby. You will be transfered to Nantou, where Sun Moon Lake is located. It is Taiwan's largest lake with the east side shaped like "Sun", and West side shaped like "Moon", hence the name "Sun Moon Lake". Sightseeing around the area includes: famous Wenwu Temple and Literature Warrior Temple dedicated to Confucius as Master of Pen and to Kuan Ti as Master of Sword, and Holy Monk Shrine. After touring round Sun Moon Lake, you will be transfered to the "Taiwanese Gourmet Restaurant" to have lunch. Enjoy a panoramic view on the new Sun Moon Lake Cable Car ride which has a total length of 1,877.15 meters, linking the Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village. You will able to see the Buji mountains across Lake community. This offers grand views over the Taiwan’s largest natural lake and surrounding mountain scenery. "Formosa Nine Aboriginal Tribes Culture Village" has shows and beautiful garden of the theme park and Aboriginal culture village. Day 3 - Chiayi / Alisan / Kaohsiung (B/L/X) JULY 2015:After breakfast, you will depart for the "Eight Wonders of Taiwan - Alisan", which is located at the end of the Alisan Forest Railway. If the weather permits, you will be able to see the eternal sea of clouds and sunrise on Jhushan after an early morning walk through a spectacular landscapes of valleys and trails. Sightseeings around the Alisan National Scenic Area including: Cherry Blossom (Season: 15Mar-20Apr), Three Generations Tree, Elephant Shaped Tree, Sochun Temple, Suling Tower, Old Alisan Tree Site, ... just to name a few. Taiwanese Banquet Lunch will be served at Alishan House, where many cherry blossom trees are. We will visit local Alishan Tea House for tea tasting on famous Alishan High Mountain Oolong Tea and you'll see plenty of plantations. After the experience at Alisan, you will be transferred to Kaohsiung City, where will have the City Tour of Kaohsiung, see the largest industrial harbor- Kaohsiung Harbor in Taiwan, and the second busiest harbor in Asia and the Former British Consulate at ShiziwanBay. In the evening, you will visit "Liuho Night Market", to taste the Taiwanese desserts and snacks. You can then visit the famous "Love River" which is now renowned for its café culture and night tour which are popular among local couples for a romantic night. Day 4 - Kaohsiung / Kenting / Taitung (B/L/D) JULY 2015: After breakfast, the tour will depart for Theresa Deng Memorial Museum. She was the most popular and influential Taiwanese singer in the world. Today, the highlight for many visit Taiwan is a visit to Kenting National Park, undoubtedly one of the most beautifully reserved natural forest in Taiwan. It is located in south of Taiwan with popular beach bordering on the tropical region of Taiwan where palm tree, banana trees, sugar cane and surfing beach are part of the scene. It's an excellent place for swim, surf, and dive. Other sightseeings will be visited today are the southernmost tip of Taiwan, "Maopitou" (named after the shape of cat-nose-like rock.) The coast of coral reef is worth a visit for land-reforms which strongly affected by wave erosions, efflorescence, and salt-soaking. The natural landscape like wave erosion caves, ditches, and pillars are amazing, sea view here is attractive and very enjoyable. The Oluanpi Light House will also be visited (it is the world's first military equipped light house). We then continue to Taitung via the Scenic Southern Link Highway. Day 5 - Taitung / East Coast National Scenic Area / Hualien (B/L/D) JULY 2015: After Breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to "Tainan Aboriginal Beinan Cultural Village" it is the site where the BC civil human evidences have been found. Then we will drive thru the HuaTong Mt Route, where we will stop at: “Butterfly Valley”which is abundance with beautiful landscape and natural environment. It's just the perfect essence to a perfect relaxing vacation and well renowned butterfly sceneries. Here you can enjoy an unique natural experience and amazing comfortable sensation outdoor hot spring and spa in the deluxe Butterfly Valley Resort. Other sightseeing in the afternoon are: GuanFu Sugar Factory and Amei Culture Centre. Luyeh Gao Tai is located at the long and narrow rift at the junction of the Central Range and Coastal Range. This famous sky diving practice hub in Taiwan is a perfect place for sky diving and hot air balloon activities, attracting a lot of sky divers to come and enjoy gliding with the wind. Luye Tableland enjoys wonderful scenery overseeing the rivers and green land of the rift valley. Tonight you will be overnight at Hualien City. Day 6 - Hualien / Taroko National Park / Taipei City (B/L/D) JULY 2015: After breakfast, you will visit "SevenStarLake” the area is called Qixingtan in Mandarin. Qixingtan was once the name of a series of small lakes situated where the HualienAirport now stands. But in 1936, Taiwan’s Japanese rulers filled in the lakes as part of a modernization drive, and the local people retreated to the coastal area their descendants now still call Qixingtan.This morning you will depart for Taroko Gorge National Park. The Taroko Gorge is an exceptionally beautiful area of Taiwan. It is the "Seven Wonder of Asia", its narrow raving created by the Liwu River which has cut deep into the mountains of solid marble. A road carved into sheer walls of rock rewinding its way past forested peaks and cliffs towering thousands of feet above it, while hundreds of feet below a river roars past gigantic marble boulders. Stops will be made at Eternal Spring Shrine, Swallow Grotto, Tunnel of Nine Turns, Marble Bridge, Tienshiang and Marble Factory. On our way back to Taipei, we will drive pass the "Chingshuei Cliff" located on the section of the Suao-Hualien Highway that stretches between Heping and Chongde stations, is one of the most spectacular sights on Taiwan's Pacific coast. The cliff is more than 1,000 meters high and drops almost vertically into the sea. The highway snakes along its curving face more than 20 kilometers, with the sheer cliff rising on one side and a sheer drop to the ocean on the other.We will then drive back to Taipei via Su-Hua Highway and Hsuei-Shan Long Tunnel (12.9 kilometers) to arrive Taipei at around 5PM, and then you will be driven to explore the vibrant night life of Taipei, e.g. Taipei 101 Building, Night Markets... etc. Tonight you will start your 3 nights accommodation at the five star hotel accommodation at Howard Plaza Hotel, which is located at the most convenient & popular & busiest shopping district of Taipei City! Day 7 - Wulai / Chiufen / Yeliu (B/X/X) JULY 2015: After breakfast, you will be taking to Wulai, it is famous for hot spring, waterfall, and Aboriginal culture. There is even a cable car to whisk you up to the to top the mountain to have panoramic view of the valley. The "Wulai Old Street" will be visited, where you can taste the many famous Taiwanese gourmet and snacks. After Lunch, we will depart for Yehliu Ocean Park. It is known for its spectacular rock formations, sculptured throughout the ages by wind and sea erosion leaving fascinating pillars, including the famous "Queen's Head" and "Fairy's Shoe". The next stop in the evening will be Chiufen Village, famous for its old mining town's charming characteristics. Many famous Taiwanese movies were shot here. Day 10 - Kyoto / Nara/ Todaiji Temple/ Kinkakuji (B/L/D) JULY 2015: After breakfast, we will visit the enchanting central Japan - Kyoto, Nara and Nagoya. Sightseeing in Nara includes visits to Todaiji Temple of Daibutsu - the largest bronze Buddha structure in Japan within the serenity of Nara Deer Park. About 1700 cherry trees are planted across spacious Nara Park outnumbering the deer by around 500. One of the most pleasant hanami (viewing of cherry blossom) spots in the park is a large lawn encircled by cherry trees, a short walk southeast of Todaiji's main hall. Upon arrival in Kyoto, where Kinkakuji located (é‡‘é–£å¯º, Golden Pavilion) is a Zen Temple in northern Kyoto whose top two floors are completely covered in gold leaf. you might have chance to see Geisha walking on the metropolitan city. Nested in the quiet foothills of Mount Otawa is Kiyomizu Temple, which has a large veranda supported on hundreds pillars and was built in 1633. Stroll down the streets in Gion (Geisha District) to enjoy the ancient Japan culture. Thereafter, transfer to Lake Biwa, the largest fresh water lake in Japan, for photos. Day 11 - Nagoya / Nagoya Castle / Owakutani / Fuji Visitor Centre / Oshino Hakkai / Kawagutiko (B/L/D) JULY 2015:The Shikinomichi ("Path of Four Seasons") along Nagoya's Yamazaki River is justifiably designated as one of Japan's 100 best cherry blossom spots. The river is lined by hundreds of cherry trees for nearly a kilometer. Many somei yoshino trees, several weeping cherry trees and small numbers of less commonly seen cherry tree varieties are planted around the pleasant park and along the moats of Nagoya Castle. Cherry Blossom Trees along the northern shores of Lake Kawaguchiko provide the magnificent sight of Mt Fuji (tallest and most sacred mountain in Japan) in combination with the lake and cherry blossoms. Two of the best spots are the lakeside promenade around the Kawaguchiko Music Forest and the small Ubuyagasaki peninsula next to the Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge. Owakudani is the area around a crater created during the last eruption of Mount Hakone some 3000 years ago. Today, much of the area is an active volcanic zone where sulfurous fumes, hot springs and hot rivers can be experienced. Additionally, Owakudani has good views of mt Fuji on clear days. A short walking trail (about ten minutes one way) leads from the ropeway station into the volcanic zone to a number of steam vents and bubbling pools. Here you can purchase eggs, cooked in the naturally hot water, whose shells are blackened by the sulfur and which are said to prolong one's life by seven years. Oshino Hakkai is the name given to the 8 ponds filled with melted snow water that has taken more than 80 years to filter through the underground layers of Mt. Fuji. People have valued this water, which they call 'sacred water'. The clear water surface reflecting Mt. Fuji appears to be veiled in an almost mystic air. Not only do these ponds boast fine-quality water, but they harmonize wonderfully with the surrounding rustic scenery, and the water of Oshino Hakkai is ranked among the best-quality waters of Japan.
Day 12 - Hakone / Meiji Shrine / Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office / Asakusa Kanonji Temple / Sumida River Cruise / Odaiba (B/L/D) JULY 2015:After breakfast, we will arrive Tokyo city, where the Tokyo Town Hall & Meji Shrine will be visited. Then enjoy a SumidaRiver cruise, a forty minute boat ride from Hinode Pier on TokyoBay to Asakusa. The river was the most important waterway for the development of Tokyo.Visit AsakusaKannonTempleand Nakamise Shopping Street. There are 400 cherry blossom trees planted on both sides of the river. Late in the afternoon we will visit the famous Bay of Tokyo – Odaiba. Among the attractions of Odaiba are several shopping and entertainment centers, theme parks, museums and the futuristic architecture and city planning. Some of the interesting sightseeing around Odaiba are: Fuji TV Building, DecksTokyoBeach, AquaCity, Musuem of Maritime Science, National Musuem of Innovation, telecom Centre, Oedo Onsen Monogatari (hot spring theme park), PaletteTown, Venus Fort, Mega Web, Ferris Wheel, Panasonic Centre, Tokyo Big Sight, OdaibaKahihinPark near RainbowBridge.
Day 13 - Tokyo Disneyland or Sightseeing in Tokyo area (B) JULY 2015:After breakfast, a day of excitement awaits you at Tokyo Disneyland. Armed with your Disneyland Passport for unlimited rides, explore Toontown, World Bazaar, Adventureland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland or Critter Country. OR venture into the mystical and romantic world of DisneySea where adventure and imagination set sail. Enjoy the millions of lights at the Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade at night for the magical moments with your favourite Disney characters. Alternative sightseeing maybe arranged subject to availabilities.
Day 14 - Tokyo / via Taipei back to Australia (B) JULY 2015: After breakfast, you will have the last chance to explore the vibrant city of Tokyo. Tokyo is a shopholic's heaven. You can find all kinds of Japanese things at one shopping district. We will visit Roppongi famous as to the rich Roppongi Hills area and an active nightclubs scene. Many foreign foreign embassies are located in Roppongi , and the nightlife is popular with locas and foreigners alike. MidTown Tower is a mixture of shopping centre and office buildings in a complex in Roppongi area, which also has Tokyo's tallest office building. Almost every locality in Japan has its own variation of ramen, from the tonkotsu (pork bone broth) ramen of Kyushu to the miso ramen of Hokkaido. You will have the opportunity to taste Tokyo's famous ramen at your own expense for lunch todau. In the afternoon, we will visit Akihabara (electrical, computers, cameras), and drive pass thru Harajuku, Shibuya, Shinjuku for shopping. About 3:00PM in the afternoon, you will be transferred to the Narita Airport for flight (CI17 18:30 NRT-TPE &CI51 23:10 TPE-SYD) back to Australia via Taipei.
Day 15 - Arrive Sydney, Australia JULY 2015: The flight will arrive Sydney approximately at 10:20AM.
