Special terms and conditions for Taiwan  Holidays & Travel, effective 21 JULY 2020


Our customers’ safety and wellbeing is our number one priority, therefore we are following current Australian Government travel advice, Taiwan Holidays & Travel in Australia is deferring all tours between 24 APRIL 2020 until 31 AUGUST 2020.

Given the unprecedented travel advice from governments and the impact of COVID-19 we have been amending our booking conditions and cancellation policy regularly to adapt to the constantly evolving nature of this pandemic. The changes detailed here take effect from 24th April
 2020, until superseded by further amendments. We will be reviewing our policies once a week as a minimum.


If you have booked a group tour departing between 24 April 2020 and 31 August 2020 you will receive a credit of 100% of monies paid, for you to use towards an alternative tour with a departure date before 31 December 2021, minus any third party payments that are unrecoverable.

Third party payments may include but are not limited to: airline fees to reissue, cancel or hold current ticket in credit, visa cost and non-refundable land costs where prepayments have been made and no refund is available. We are working on recovering as much monies as possible and will continue to do so.

If you wish to cancel your tour completely with Taiwan Holidays & Travel, our standard terms and conditions will apply. We will endeavour to recover as much monies possible and refund this to you or your travel agent. There are no guarantees on the funds that we will be able to recover.

Airfares held in credit have different terms and conditions on when they need to be utilised. We will be in touch to discuss options with you, when we have all details available to us.


For tours departing after 31 AUGUST 2020, normal terms and conditions apply.


Due to the nature of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the travel restrictions imposed by governments around the world, airlines and tour companies are not liable for the losses to clients. The offer of refunds and/or credits is done in goodwill and above what is legally necessary. If the terms and conditions due to COVID-19 (detailed above) are not acceptable, then our normal terms and conditions will apply. Holding of Credit with Taiwan Holidays & Travel has no monetary value, is not transferrable to any other person and is only valid against future travel arrangements with Taiwan Holidays & Travel. Credits can be used on multiple bookings, until entire credit is used in full. If further travel isn’t taken up by 31 December 2021 the credit will be forfeited in full.

If you have already accepted different amended terms and conditions due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and you feel today’s terms (detailed above) are more favourable, we ask that you please email or write to us and we can consider options for you on a case-by-case basis. Where monies have been released to you or your travel agent already, we may have already agreed on terms and conditions with our suppliers and airlines, which cannot be rescinded.

The Facility is the travel web site or one of its sub-sites and the ability to enter into transactions directly with us or with certain parties whose content appears on the site. You acknowledge that some of the material accessible through the facility is provided by third parties, and we are not responsible for this material.
Where the Facility provides the ability to enter into transactions with third parties we are not responsible for those third parties or the goods or services they offer. Airlines and other third party travel providers impose different terms and conditions on the sale of specific travel products featured on this site. You should carefully read all the terms and conditions specific to the product you are booking before finalising your travel transaction.

This agreement is governed by the relevant state laws in force. You irrevocably submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the relevant state and Courts of Appeal from them and/or any relevant tribunals for determining any dispute concerning this agreement. We may legally assign any of our rights and obligations under this agreement at any time by giving you notice. Your use of this travel web site and on-line reservation facilities such as 'booking form' and 'booking online' here-by referred to as the 'booking engine' is subject to the following Standard Terms of Service and Trade:
1. Ownership, copyright and trade marks
The content of this travel web site, farefinder and booking engine, the licensor and / or provider of this site ('the Agent'). Unauthorised use is strictly prohibited. All title, ownership rights and intellectual property rights, including copyright, rest with the Agent.
2. Accuracy of information and limitation of liability
The Agent does not endorse or recommend any particular travel service provider. The Agent and its third party suppliers have taken reasonable care that the content of this travel web site, including all travel information and listings is correct but is subject to amendment at any time without notice. The Agent publishes such information in good faith. As user you acknowledge and accept that:The Agent cannot and has not checked the accuracy of all information provided by travel service providers such as airlines and hotels. The hotel listings may include errors and travel service providers such as airlines, hotels, wholesalers and car suppliers are requested and encouraged to correct and update their information regularly and as needed. The Agent will not be responsible for errors, omissions or misleading information in travel information and listings. You should make your own evaluation of the accuracy or completeness of any information, opinion, advice or other content available through the facility.You are solely responsible for the suitability of any travel services which you purchase by means of the service. In particular, we are not liable for any inconvenience caused or expense incurred as a result of any unsuitability of travel services for use in association with other travel services. Any Agent's role in relation to your travel arrangements is limited to facilitating your booking and arranging travel documentation, payments and refunds as applicable. The Agent accepts responsibility for the performance of this role and for the negligence of its employees. However, to the maximum extent permitted by law, the Agent disclaims all liability for any technical errors, corruption of any data, unauthorised access to your personal data, inaccuracies in information supplied by third parties, or failure by the Agent to complete bookings where that failure is due to circumstances beyond its control. The Agent accepts no responsibility or liability for any failure or delay on the part of any third party in providing travel services to you where your booking has been properly processed by it; nor is the Agent responsible for any acts or omissions of airlines or other third parties in the course of delivery of such travel services. Where the Agent is liable to you under these terms and conditions its liability will be limited to providing the relevant booking services again or to refunding money paid in relation to services not provided because of the Agent's default. Where refunds are due to you from third party suppliers of travel products or services, the Agent will provide reasonable assistance to you in claiming such funds from those suppliers. Under no circumstances will the Agent be liable for direct, indirect, consequential or incidental damages including but not limited to lost profits or savings or damages for disappointment.
3. Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Agent grants no warranties, express or implied, regarding this travel web site and any service or facilities provided including the booking engine. The site and any service or facility are being offered to you "as you see it". The Agent will not be liable to you for the breach of any alleged warranty.
4. Use of the Booking Engine (booking Online)
In making a hotel, air or car reservation for you through the booking engine, the Agent will be acting as agent of the hotel/wholesaler, car hire company or airline concerned. The Agent accordingly accepts no responsibility or liability for any misunderstanding or error, whatsoever and howsoever caused, in respect of any reservation made through the booking engine. The onus rests on you to read the booking rules and ensure your booking abides by these, to carefully check and correct any mistakes in your reservation request and in any confirmation thereof received from the hotel,car hire company or airline via the Agent.
5. Use of your contact information
As user of this travel web site and any service or facility such as the booking engine, you agree and consent that the Agent may use, including to share with third parties, your contact information (i.e. your name, e-mail and physical / postal address and / or other contact details) for all purposes directly connected with your reservation request.
6. Indemnity
As a condition for your use of this travel web site including any service or facility such as the booking engine, you agree to indemnify the Agent from and against any liability, damage or loss that the Agent incurs or suffers as a result of any action, inaction or omission on your part.
7. Clients Responsibility
By registering for the service, you warrant to us that you are at least eighteen years old You must have sufficient credit on your credit card account to meet all charges for travel services you book through this web site. You must read the travel-specific terms and conditions at the end of these terms and conditions and convey all information set out in those terms and conditions to any other parties covered by any booking you make. You must keep secure any means of identification that we provide to you in order to access the service. You must not resell the service or any products or services accessed by means of the service, or permit any other person, other than adult members of your household or others with your express permission and under your personal supervision, to use your user identification to access the service. You are responsible for all use of the service, and all transactions entered into by means of the service, using this user identification. You must not use the service for any activities which breach any laws, infringe any party's rights, or breach any standards, content requirements or codes promulgated by any relevant authority. You must not use the service in any way which interferes with other users or defames, harasses or menaces anyone. You indemnify us from and against all actions, claims, suits, demands, liabilities, costs or expenses arising out of or in any way connected to use of the service by you or any other person using your membership identification or password. You acknowledge that copyright subsists in all software, including HTML code, provided in association with the Service. You must not modify, copy, transmit, display, perform, publish, license or create derivative works from any information or software accessed by means of the Service. Where copying or transmission is expressly permitted
, you must not change or delete any author attribution or copyright notice. You acknowledge that we may receive all commission from transactions entered into using the service.

1. Fares & Prices
Airfares and prices displayed in fare finder or when booking onlinefare finder or on this site do not include taxes or airport charges and are subject to Airline/ provider availability. The general booking form constitutes a request only and we do not guarantee fares or prices until the booking has been confirmed by one of our consultants and paid for. Airline/hotel/car availability, fare conditions and class of travel can change at any time. Routing restrictions and other special conditions may apply. Taxes, airport charges and any additional costs will be advised to you when your booking is confirmed. Bookings made through the booking engine also constitute a request, and the correctness of this request in regards to abiding by the rules of the fare as stated is the responsibility of you, we do not guarantee the fare quoted until the booking is confirmed by one of our consultants . Airlines and other suppliers may change their prices without notice.
2. Booking Acknowledgment
Acknowledgment of your booking request will be sent via e-mail or telephone call within 48 hours of your request being received. Please ensure you check your e-mail regularly. Payment must be received within 72 hours of booking confirmation unless otherwise agreed by us the agent. Failure to pay for tickets within this time results in automatic cancellation of the booking. We accept no responsibility for loss incurred due to automatic cancellation or failure of e-mail delivery.
3. Travel Documentation
Passport, Visa and Health requirements are the responsibility of all individual travellers. Passports are required for all travellers departing Australia. Permanent residents travelling on a foreign passport must hold an Australian Re-entry Visa. Many countries require that foreign nationals entering hold a passport with at least six months validity. We will assist in providing information based on the information supplied by you in the booking form or booking engine. This information as well as other related information supplied by the Agent and any links within the site are supplied in good faith; however should be treated as a guideline only. The final responsibility for ensuring documentation is correct is that of the individual traveller. The posting/couriering of travel documentation is the responsibility of you. The agent will not be held responsible for tickets lost by a third party, any charges associated with reissue and resending of documentation will be at your expense.
4. Liability
We cannot accept responsibility for any travel service, rules and conditions that are incorrectly represented within this system. The data and services shown are provided in good faith and 'as is'. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any data or services provided and to the maximum extent permitted by any law disclaimer all implied warranties in connection with such data or services. In no event shall we be liable for any injury, loss, claim, damage or any incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to lost profits or savings, arising out of or in any way connected with the use of any display within this site.
5. Booking Cancellation
Amendment Charges Certain fees may be payable in respect of transactions entered into using the Service, as notified at the time of the relevant transaction. These fees may include cancellation fees and, where amendment is permitted, amendment fees. In some cases, Agents may charge cancellation and/or amendment fees in addition to those imposed by travel service providers. Unless otherwise notified to you at the time of entry into the relevant transaction, a charge of $150 is payable to the Agent in respect of any cancellation, and, where amendment of a booking is permitted, a charge of $30 is payable to the Agent for each permitted amendment in addition to any applicable airline/operator fees. Before entering into a transaction, you should carefully check to see whether any other cancellation or amendment fees apply. These charges will be deducted from your credit card at the time charges are incurred.
6. Travel Insurance
It is recommended that all travellers obtain travel insurance against cancellation or amendment fees as well as providing sufficient medical cover.
7. Changes to these Terms and Conditions
The Agent  has the authority and the right to at any time it sees fit to change or modify all or any part of these terms and conditions

Use of the 'Booking Service’ and website by you ("the Customer") is subject to the following terms and conditions:
1. Bookings made to ‘the 'Booking Service’ by the Customer are made on behalf of the accommodation provider. The Customer agrees that the Accommodation provider has sole responsibility for delivery of the services being booked by the Customer and that ‘the 'Booking Service’ is not liable for default by the accommodation provider. 
2. The Customer agrees to pay to ‘the 'Booking Service’ by debit to Customer's credit card account the specified booking fee and cost of the accommodation. All fees are Tax inclusive where applicable. The 'Booking Service’ will issue the Customer with a valid confirmation in respect of this booking service. 
3. The 'Booking Service’ receives a payment from the accommodation provider for providing this booking service.  
4. The customer acknowledges that a third party ("Card Authoriser") will process the credit card transactions required in respect of a booking. The Customer agrees that the 'Booking Service’ is not liable for default by the Card Authoriser. 
5. Cancellation penalties depend upon individual accommodation provider policies and can be supplied at time of booking. An administration fee of $20 AUD applies to all booking cancellations and amendments. The balance of funds remaining (if applicable) will be refunded to the specific credit card used to make payment at the earliest opportunity.
6. You may be required to present photo ID on arrival at the accommodation provider premises. A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required to cover incidental charges. 
. Information on the ‘the 'Booking Service’ website is based on information supplied by each accommodation provider. Whilst the 'Booking Service’ endeavors to ensure all information presented is accurate, it makes no guarantee that the information is free from errors or faults, and accepts no liability for any errors or omissions as all information in relation to accommodation and premises is provided by the accommodation provider.
8. The 'Booking Service’ makes no warranty or representation about the suitability of any product or service being advertised on its website.  
9. The 'Booking Service’ does not pay commissions to travel agents using this booking service.  
10. The 'Booking Service’ reserves the right to change information published on its website at any time.  
11. The 'Booking Service’ needs to collect personal information about you to process your booking for accommodation. If the 'Booking Service’ cannot collect this information, it will be unable to make a booking in your name. The 'Booking Service’ respects your privacy and will only use or disclose your information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988. Please read our privacy policy.  
2.  If you wish to make a booking, we will provide your information to the accommodation provider so that your booking may be processed.  
13. This agreement is governed by the laws of where the 'Booking Service' is located (unless otherwise specified) and the parties agree to the appropriate jurisdiction for any legal proceedings arising out of this agreement.




All prices shown are per person in Australian Dollars and are correct as of 01 January 2009. Prices would be subject to change without notice in the unlikely event of major currency fluctuations or changes to service providers’ tariffs. Taiwan Holidays & Travel reserves the right to amend tour costs at any time and acceptance of this facility is considered a condition of making a reservation. Should an amendment be necessary it will be advised to your Travel Agent. We strongly recommend that you check regularly with your Travel Agent for any amendments. All prices displayed cover only the inclusions as detailed in the applicable itinerary. Taiwan Holidays & Travel will not provide a breakdown of prices on any of the requested quotations, regardless of the booking type. Any quotation request may be declined if incomplete or vague details are provided.



International airfares, Airline fuel surcharges and airport taxes (unless specified); passports, visas and applicable vaccinations; tips to your tour director, driver or local guides; gratuities on cruise ships & ferries; laundry; beverages and food (unless specified in your itinerary); optional excursions, porterage at airports or any other items of a personal nature.



All clients must be in possession of a valid passport with a minimum of at least six (6) months validity and all necessary visas applicable to their itinerary at the time of commencement of travel. All such documentation is the sole responsibility of the client. You travel agent may assist, on your request, to organise the necessary travel documentation. Taiwan Holidays & Travel accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the failure of any client to obtain the correct documentation.



Comprehensive travel insurance is available from Taiwan Holidays & Travel or your Travel agent for all Australian based clients at the time of reservation to cover against various contingencies such as loss of deposit and/or fare due to cancellation; loss of or damage to baggage; loss of money or travel documents; medical expenses, curtailment charges; personal accident and/or personal liability. Taiwan Holidays & Travel chosen insurer has actual medical representation within Taiwan.



Accommodation is based on twin or double-bedded rooms. Triple share accommodation will consist of two single beds plus a rollaway bed. The hotels listed in this brochure will be used on all departures. If a change should become necessary for any reason, the hotel substituted will be of an equivalent standard to those shown. Any hotel description is based upon advice received from the applicable hotel and whilst Taiwan Holidays & Travel will make every effort to ensure that all details are correct at the time of printing, Taiwan Holidays & Travel can take no responsibility for information used in good faith. Normal check-in time for hotels in Taiwan is 2pm and any arrival before this time may lead to a room not being readily available.



There are a number of Domestic and International airfares that may be used with your holiday package. These airfares will have special conditions and will be subject to availability.



A non-refundable deposit of $300.00 per person must be received by Taiwan Holidays & Travel, within 7 days of confirmation and balance payment is due no later than 60 days before departure from Australia. For bookings made within 60 days of departure from Australia, deposit is due within 24 hours and balance payment within 7 days. Any booking not paid for at the designated time may incur a late payment fee of $2.00 per day. Payments by credit card will incur a surcharge of 2% for Visa & Master Card and 2% for American Express & Diners cards.



Any amendment to your holiday may incur fees. An amendment is considered to be a change to your booking where the booking value does not increase. Your first amendment is complimentary. Any subsequent amendment will incur a fee of $20.00 per change per booking. Amendments made after documentation has been issued will incur a reissue fee of $110.00 plus any airline or supplier reissue fees. A transfer to an alternative tour is considered a cancellation and subsequent fees will be applied.



Any reservation made within 8 to 14 days prior to departure will incur a non-refundable Late Booking fee of $10.00 per booking whether the reservation can be confirmed or not. Any reservation made within 7 days of departure will incur a fee of $20.00 per booking. Any quotation made outside of 14 days that is subsequently requested to be booked within 14 days will incur the appropriate Late Booking fees.

Full payment for your holiday together with the applicable Late Booking fee must be received by Taiwan Holidays & Travel within 48 hours of booking. No reservations will be processed until the applicable payment has been received by Taiwan Holidays & Travel. Failure to comply with these terms will result in the automatic cancellation of the reservations request.



Should you wish to cancel any reservation made, there will be no refund of your Deposit, and we will charge a Cancellation Fee plus Airlines or suppliers Cancellation Fees. Booking cancelled within 60 days prior to departure will incur a minimum fee 25% (or minimum A$800 per person) of the Land content. Bookings Cancelled within 30 days - 15 days prior to departure will incur a minimum fee of  50% (or minimum A$1500 per person) of the land content.

Bookings Cancelled within 14 days prior to departure, No Refund will be available for any portion of your itinerary that is not utilised for any reason.



Some Group Tours operated by Taiwan Holidays & Travel may be subject to a minimum of 10 people travelling. On any occasion where less than the minimum number of participants materialises, we reserve the right to re-cost the tour with alternative arrangements or to cancel the tour. If you do not accept our alternative arrangements, we will refund all payments made by you to Taiwan Holidays & Travel but we will not be liable for any claims made, damage, additional expenses or consequential loss suffered by you.



Although Taiwan Holidays & Travel will endeavor to ensure that holidays are available as advertised, an express condition of making any reservation is the acceptance by the client that tour itineraries and schedules, advertised accommodation, sightseeing programs and modes of transport as outlined in this brochure and/or supplied in pre-departure information are subject to change without prior notice. Air travel, coach journeys and other forms of transport as well as accommodation are provided by independent operators and all reservations through Taiwan Holidays & Travel are subject to terms, conditions and limitations of carriers, hoteliers and other service providers.



In general a good level of fitness is required whilst touring in Taiwan as there are sometimes long days with considerable amounts of walking; or walking over uneven terrain, long coach or overnight train journeys and on certain tours changes of altitude. We strongly recommend that all clients familiarise themselves with any health requirements applicable to the areas they intend to visit. The client is solely responsible for compliance with any vaccination and/or other health requirements of governments in countries visited or transited. The Department of Health or your preferred medical practitioner will be able to advise with the current requirements and recommendation.



We recommend that you only pack and bring with you luggage that you can safely handle yourself if required. Whilst porters are available at larger hotels, coach parking areas at some airports or train stations may be some distance. The airline regulation baggage allowance for travel in Economy class is 20Kgs and is often strictly adhered to. Please ensure that you make every effort to comply with this restriction. Cabin baggage should not exceed 5Kgs and there are restrictions on the carriage of liquids or any kind inside aircraft. Please refer to the applicable airline or check with your travel agent or Taiwan Holidays & Travel consultant for details.



There is no contract between Taiwan Holidays & Travel and the client or their agent until such time as the company has received the appropriate deposit and ha confirmed acceptance in writing. An account will be sent with the confirmation and should be settled by the specified dates. Should payment not be received as requested, Taiwan Holidays & Travel reserves the right to cancel the booking with the consequential loss of deposit and to apply the applicable cancellation charges. Taiwan Holidays & Travel has the right at any time and for any reason to cancel the contract prior to the date of departure; and if it does so, its liability shall be limited to refunding all monies paid by the client,

Or to amend, alter, vary or withdraw any tour, holiday excursion or facility it has advertised or published or to substitute a hotel of similar class and/or standard if it is deemed advisable or necessary. In either case the company shall not be liable for any damage, additional expense or consequential loss suffered by the client. No person other than an authorised member of the company (in writing) has the authority to vary, add, amplify or waive any description, representation, term or condition set forth in this brochure. In the event of the company exercising its rights to amend or alter any tour or holiday that has been booked, the client shall have the right to continue with the tour or holiday as amended or altered, or to accept an alternative tour or holiday which the company may offer. In either of these cases the company shall not be liable for any damage, additional expense or consequential loss suffered by the client. The company will under no circumstances whatsoever be liable to the client or any person travelling with the client for any damage, personal injury, sickness, accident, loss, delay, increased expense, consequential loss or any misadventure caused; any act, omission, default of any proprietor, carrier or other person or by an employee or agent concerned in the provision of accommodation, refreshment, carriage facility or service for the client or of any person travelling with them howsoever caused. The temporary or permanent loss of or damage to baggage or personal effects howsoever caused. In this condition “howsoever caused” includes negligence on the part of any person. No liability on the part of the company arising in any way out of this contract in respect  of any tour or holiday excursion facility shall exceed the total amount paid or agreed to be paid for the tour or holiday, and shall in no case include any consequential loss or additional expense whatsoever. Any claim or complaint by the client must be notified to the company in writing within 28 days of their return from the tour or holiday. No claim, communicated verbally or in writing to the company outside of this period will be entertained and the company shall incur no liability whatsoever in respect thereof. Each of these conditions shall be serveable from the other and if any provision should be found to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall nevertheless have full force and effect



The booking conditions as set out herein form the basis of the contract between “The Company” and “The Passenger”. This contract is governed in all respects by the laws of the state of New South Wales and any legal action arising from within the conditions of the contract shall only be litigated in the appropriate court having jurisdiction in that state.



International airlines, Cruise vessels and hotels have special facilities for people with disabilities or who require assistance. Please inform your travel agent or Taiwan Holidays & Travel consultant if you have any special needs.
